Domains
Your domain is the web address your viewers use to access your Bamboo website. Bamboo allows you to use either a free Bamboo subdomain or your own custom domain.
This guide explains how to add a domain, set it as the default for your platform, and manage your existing domains.
Where to Find It
Open:
Domain & Access → Domains
Or go directly to:
https://app.bamboo-cloud.com/admin/domain
Table of Contents
Adding a Domain
The Add Domain section lets you connect either a Bamboo subdomain or your own custom domain.
Choose the option that best fits your platform before clicking Add Domain.

Bamboo Subdomains
By default, Bamboo provides a free subdomain ending with .bamboo-cloud.com.
Simply enter the subdomain name you want to use and click Add Domain.
If the name is available, it will immediately be added to your account.
Example:
mychurch.bamboo-cloud.com
Custom Domains
If you already own a domain, enable Connect your own domain.
Enter your full domain name, for example:
example.comwatch.example.com
Before your domain can be used, you'll need to complete two additional steps:
- Configure your DNS.
- Complete the SSL certificate setup.
After clicking Add Domain, Bamboo displays the required setup instructions.
DNS Configuration
Create an A Record pointing your domain to:
13.248.185.17
DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide.
SSL Certificate
After adding your custom domain, Bamboo will begin the SSL certificate process.
Our support team will contact you with the remaining setup steps.
Important: Do not set your custom domain as the default until the setup has been completed and your domain is working correctly.
Managing Your Domains
The Your Domains section displays every domain connected to your Bamboo account.
From here you can:
- Open a domain in a new browser tab.
- Set a domain as the default.
- Remove domains you no longer use.
Setting the Default Domain
Your default domain is used whenever Bamboo generates links to your content, including quick links shared from the Admin Dashboard.
Only one domain can be set as the default at a time.
Bamboo Tips
- Start with a Bamboo subdomain if you want to launch quickly.
- Use a custom domain for a fully branded experience.
- Allow up to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate.
-
After updating your DNS records, you can verify that your A Record is pointing to the correct IP address using MXToolbox:
https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=a:yourdomain.com&run=toolpageReplace yourdomain.com with your own domain before running the lookup.
- Verify that your custom domain is working correctly before setting it as the default.
-

If you're still having issues, contact our support team (support@bamboo-cloud.com), with the details of your new domain and where you run it (for example- Godaddy). And we will answer quickly with all the details you need.
