Upload and add content
To upload your content:
Navigate to the “ Media” module and press the “+Add” button.
You can upload your videos using a few options:
- Upload from device
- From download link (URL)
- Upload from CSV (file)
- From Dropbox
- From YouTube
- General content
Now Let's dive into all the options-
Upload From Device
"Uploading from device" is as straightforward as it gets, simply upload for you device.
If it's a computer, upload from your desktop; if it's a mobile phone, upload from your gallery.
From download link (URL)
Uploading for a "download link" is a great option if you already have the video stored somewhere else.
It's a quick way to go; instead of downloading to your computer, just in order to upload to Bamboo.
A download link to a file will download the file to your computer when pasted into your address bar. If you see a web page, HTML, or a message, this is an incorrect link.

Upload from CSV (file)
CSV upload is the easiest option for 2 use cases-
- Bulk upload- For users that have a lot of content to upload, and have download links/HLS URL's for those videos. It can be used for both internal uploads and external video uploads.
- Bulk update - CSV is a great option for bulk updating your videos, suitable for users with a Bamboo Pro account or higher. With CSV upload, you can change: names, thumbnails, descriptions, add new categories or assign videos to existing categories, and much more. It's a good way to see where you stand if you've already uploaded a lot of content and need to make a significant change or update to it.

From Dropbox
If you choose to upload from Dropbox, you will be asked to connect to your Dropbox account.
After doing that, you will be able to choose the files that you want to upload from there to your Bamboo account.
From YouTube
We also have an option to add videos from YouTube.
Bamboo Pro Tip: Our embed code doesn't support playing YouTube content, so it only makes sense to add YouTube videos if you are using the Bamboo Pro or enterprise plans and plan to use the YouTube content on your Bamboo site or apps.
To use this upload option, click the “ From YouTube” button, fill in the YouTube video ID, and the video will be added to your video library.
Bamboo Pro Tip: To find your YouTube video ID, go to the video URL and copy the ID from the link; it’s usually after ”v=”.
YouTube videos are played using the YouTube player.
If you would like to get your actual content from YouTube, please contact us.
General content
General content is used for adding content stored in other locations and playing it via an external URL, or for sending to videos and other content (such as articles) that use a WebView.
This option is supported only on our apps and is part of our enterprise plan.
To enable it, please reach out to our support team by email.
