Content Settings: Privacy, Metadata & Embed Player
Content Settings is where you set account-wide defaults for your content: the privacy new content starts with, the extra fields you want on your videos and channels, and the player used when you copy an embed code in one click.
In this article:
- Default content privacy: Public or Private for new content
- Channel fields: external EPG and per-channel ads
- Advanced metadata: extra fields for your videos
- Content: genre, rating, release year, and more
- Video experience: trailers and video ads
- Player configuration: the player used by Copy Embed
To open it, go to Content → Content Settings.

Default content privacy
- Default Content Privacy: whether new videos, live events, and channels start as Public or Private. You can still change the privacy of each item.
This also applies to videos you import with a CSV file and to recordings of your live events.
Channel fields
Turn these on to add optional fields to the channel edit page:
- Show EPG XMLTV URL: adds an XMLTV URL field to your channels, so you can use an external EPG source for the program guide.
- Enable Channel VAST Override: adds a VAST tag field to your channels, so each channel can use its own ads instead of your account-level ad settings.

Advanced metadata
Turn on extra fields for your videos. When you edit a video, most of these fields appear on the Details tab, under Advanced.
Content
- Genre: a genre field for your videos.
- Rating: a rating field for your videos.
- Release Year: a release year field for your videos.
- Producer: a producer field for your videos.
- Season: a season field for your videos.
- Recognition Badge: recognition images and text for videos and series, such as festival awards, nominations, or official selections.
- Custom Links: up to two custom link buttons on the video's details page. Each button can send viewers to an external website, such as a store, a product page, or more resources. The buttons appear on your website and mobile apps, not on TV apps.
Video experience
- Trailer Video: a trailer field for your videos. When a video has a trailer, a Watch Trailer button appears on its details page. Categories that use the series view also get a trailer field when you edit them.
- Video VAST URL: a VAST ad tag field, so a video can play its own ads. You'll find it on the video's Access tab, under Monetization.
